Yews are primarily known as hedge plants. But you can also find impressive, old yew trees in parks or older gardens.

Yew wood is extremely decorative and is considered one of the hardest softwoods. In the past, the wood was used, among other things, for making bows. Unfortunately, due to excessive use in the early centuries, there are hardly any old yew trees left. If yew wood is obtained, it is primarily used for turning work, inlays or veneers due to its great grain.

Yew trees can live up to 3,000 years and grow to a height of 20 meters.
